Trying to connect my laptop to my samsung tv.

Using VGA

Its plugged in etc but it won't turn the tv onto the pc channel?
In the menu > inputs > source list PC is in dull writing?

check that on your laptop the VGA port is set to output a signal?

Maybe need to press FN and an F key (F4 on mine) to switch to external VGA.

Shouldn't make no difference what your operating system is. You tried pressing Fn & F4/F7?

Sounds like the TV doesn't want display that resolution.

btw your tv probably wont accept a hd wide screen signal like it does say a blueray dvd over VGA

Well did you upgrade from vista or xp before (I'm guessing you did). Mine used to work on vista, wont work with windows 7. Tried reinstalling all drivers, tried all sorts of resolution combos etc. couldnt figure it out.
