s2 escort,parked up today and had water p1ssin out under the car from one of the pipes,i think?
couldnt see what pipe as ive got a bit of chrome covering exhaust and had no tools to take it off,looks good but annoyied me today.
got home and ive got a pit in the garage,made sure there was anoth water in,started up and left for around half hour running.water didnt leak of drop level.
but...... what looked like mini copper fragments started cumin up in the header tank any ideas?

sorry mate explained that wrong. thats what it looks like but when you dip a finger in none comes out,maybe slight oil in header tank maybe,its very fine.

I'm guessing you mean small bits (mini) of copper, not Mini Cooper pmsl.

my spelling is terrible. ive fitted a baileys alloy rad,brand new so dont think its rad sill or anything.

Usual pipe to split is the rad pipe by the alt, work engine mounts mean the end moves and alt cuts thru the hose.

i got a clip when i got the samco's that clip that hose to the rad,so hopefully that would stop it.has so far.

yea take the pipe off the rad and check its seated properly. my bro in law's one split on that pipe, with the take off for the turbo and it was loosing cooland from there. But take teh rad off and check the bottom of it...as it may have blown from the bottom due to corrosion, especially if its the original rad. IIRC they arent expensive...bout £40 for a good one 2nd hand. A good alloy one is bout £60.

Mine caused me nothing but heartache in the 2 months i had it
Not the best cars to live with as a daily driver

standard rad isnt for me,alloy rads all the way checked all pipes,re-fitted them and is holding water fine so hopefully all good.

there good motors mate,if there looked after.i need to do my bonnet and seat,then im after a new set of wheels.should of kept it mate,there goin for good money now (decent ones)
