had my headlights on for about 7 minutes. went to start the car. and it wouldnt

it wasnt completely dead but there wasnt enough for it to fire.

do i need a new battery or is that about right?

Weather has probably shagged the battery.

New battery time. Then check the alternator is charging via the battery. Should read over 14 volts.
