Itunes + 1x iPhone 3gs (mine) and Mrs Jambo's iPhone 4
How do i do it?
The music part is simple enough, just like having two ipods. However the apps side confuses me.
I transffered the ebay app and some games to her phone, when i went to update the apps it asked for MY apple id not hers?
Is it just easier to have 1 apple id for both phones?
I dont want the backups getting all cocked up and her ending up with all my contacts/pics etc and mine with herS?
Am i being a retard?
(Windows 7, only 1 user account we share, i dont want another)

I know you dont want another user account but why not just set one up for mrs jambos itunes? might save confusion?

Its not laziness its a PITA. I dont want to have to sign out and sign in to swop around just to plug the phone into itunes!

it's the only way mate, unless you have two phones with exactly the same songs/podcasts on, and one shared itunes account

I turn autosync off as its shit. So i manually manage music, so theres no issue there.
Im just worried about backups. I dont really mind sharing an itunes account tbh!

you can check what backup exists,
Edit > Preferences > Devices
if there are two separate back ups then you're ok
