Motherboard: ASRock G41M-GS3
RAM: 1x 4GB DDR3 1333

Apparently you have to run DDR3 1333 RAM in overclocked mode on this motherboard and only in conjunction with a CPU that has an FSB of 1333MHz to make full use of the maximum speed of the RAM.

If you don't fuck around with jumper settings and that, will it just simply run it at a lower speed (800MHz if you use a CPU which has an FSB of 800MHz, for example a Celeron)?

I assumed it would, but I'm not so sure now?

Help please.

It should just drop in speed, but I'm guessing it's dependent on the motherboard, so hard to say for sure.

Why not just settle for slower RAM if you're not bothering with a CPU to match?

I'm putting together some motherboard bundles with a few different configurations, so as there isn't much different in price for the faster RAM I wanted to put that as part of the bundle.
