Apple could do that if they wanted.

Windows 7 has the chance but can't do it.

It's a massive number, even compared to Apple.

Android, windows etc are both trying to win the world over ios but apple release 1 new phone per year and is the only phone to run ios. Really what does that say?

According to this it was 17.25% in February.

Android gets something like 350k phone activations per day so it's selling in massive volumes.

also, android phones are practically being given away nowadays. as cheap as £50 on payg.
i bet if you could get an apple phone with ios for £50 payg or free on a £30 contract there would be a lot less androids.

Only due to andoid not being exclusive...If you buy a £50 android phone it will be totally different to my HTC Desire HD.

I know some people who are frustrated they can't get the latest version officially because of carrier restrictions.

It's definitely helped a few manufacturers out though as it's seemingly difficult to be able to produce both great hardware and software at the same time.
