I live in a 2 bedroom 1st floor flat. The radiators are always on in the lounge (albeit a fairly low heat), even if the central heating is turned off on the boiler. The only time they go off is if I turn the boiler off at the mains.

Initially I assumed they had been plumbed into the hot water. But I turned the heating on yesterday for the first time and the offending radiators got much hotter, which suggests they are correctly controlled with the rest of the central heating.

I had a heating engineer out to look at the boiler and he said it seems OK, he confirmed that the central heating pump wasn't on when the radiators were, which suggests the boiler is working as expected.

Anyone got any ideas how these radiators are getting warm?

It's a Powermax 155x which I'm led to believe that

a) It's a boiler and hot water cylinder in one appliance.
b) It's a pile of shit.

Despite its downfalls, having had 2 people out to look at it, it appears to be working correctly.

Thanks for any help you can give!

But it's been confirmed that while the radiators in the lounge are on, the boiler's central heating pump isn't running. Also, why only the radiators in the lounge but nowhere else?

Is that inside the boiler or an external component? I have the boiler insured so if they can find anything wrong with it (they haven't yet), they will fix it.
