Hey, i got a 1.4 16v sport witch i put an xe in it. The thing is iv had it running then came out it dont start, then on the odd day i can go outside it will fire up again.
Iv had the multi meter on the crank sensor unpluged and got a reading, then put multi meter on the loom its getting power. But when i plug them back together and test no reading.
im getting fuel to the rail and it has been running
Any help cheers Ada.

Could be a broken wire somewhere in the loom. But also sounds like a earthing problem can sometimes cause this.

thanks for the reply. earth's are all good with clean contact. As for a broken wire i can get readings from the coil and the loom on various plugs.

Right then iv tested the crankshaft sensor and its priming the fuel so that rules that out. I have tested the coil i have put the multi meter inside the termernal, and im getting a reading but if i put a HT lead on the coil with a sparkplug and nothing!!
Any thoughts cheers

All earth wires and straps in place?
Edit ; Your crankshaft sensor controls the spark not to control the fuel?!

When i took the Crank sensor out and put it just on the block i can hear the fuel relay clicking and priming. Also if i unplug the CS from the loom i get a reading when turned over with a multimetre.

I dont think fueling is the problem here but just the spark. Have you checked the 4 spark plugs individually? As the only one your using maybe nacked,
