My girlfriends x14xe Corsa has just randomly started making a tapping noise on tick over,hot or cold and it's gutless,barely any throttle response. I presume the tapping noise is the lifters but would that cause loss of power?

plenty oil in it.. my 1600 was tapping the otherday, turns out it was low on oil

Yeah I checked that. I'm presuming the tapping is the lifters but I'm more concerned about the lack in power,struggles driving on flat ground and going up hill is another story!
