Is there a way to reverse this?
Since the upgrade it has stopped my Bluetooth car kit working as well

used redsnow and put it back to 5.0.1

is possible but needs to be jailbroken , had to downgrade my old 3g took abit of messing around but worked

Tried the obvious of restarting / resetting the phone and car kit?
Had no issues with 5.1.1 on the three devices I've pu it on...

Yeah tried all the usual. The car kit is designed for iOs4. It doesnt technically work with iOS5 but it did. Since the update it takes about 7ttempts to make a call

That's a bit strange. Think mine's just designed for bluetooth enabled phones.
There seems no reason why the car kit should be software or even phone specific!?

It's usually because the Bluetooth protocol is a bit of a free-for-all. The Bluetooth in my car has worked with certain phones to different degrees and different versions of iOS with the same success levels.
It's strange how it's dropped off now of all time though, 5.1.1 was supposed to be a security patch for Safari

Yeah redsnow has released a jailbreak for for the new 5.1.1 I'm in two minds weather to update mine and jailbreak it, I've got 5.0.1 on still and jail broke that

That's basically it. Car kits are hugely dependant on software. 99% will be able to receive a call but features like dialled/missed/voice dial are dependant on software.
