Leaked. (conveniently on the day of the SGS3 launch).
Headphone jack on the bottom where it should be along with mini dock connector.
Also talk of a 500ppi screen and new silver feel for iOS 6 as seen in the WWDC app just released.

Doubt it will be a 500ppi screen. The prototype that was shown off that had that specs was a 5" unit and that won't fit any where near the shells that have been leaked.

500ppi would look pretty incredible though!

Personally I'm much more curious about the rumored MacBook Pros with retina display.

Doesn't need a bigger screen, needs a higher res screen.
If they manage to fit a 720P screen into a form factor not much bigger than it is just now it'll be the best selling one ever (as if it wouldn't have been anyway).

I don't like how phones are getting so big. Just look ridiculous. And awkward to carry around

There's another 6 months yet so who knows what they can pull off, if anyone can do it and has the money to do it, it's Apple.
The 4 and 4S designs sold so well it wouldn't be in their interests to deviate from the design too much. The leaks of a thinner possibly longer iPhone 4 are right on the money IMO. Especially if they can use some of the space above/below the screen to keep the overall size down.
Apple always wanted to put the headphone jack at the bottom but have had to compromise due to antenna design, looks like they've cracked it this time.

What value would a 500dpi screen add to the product?

Also, what value would a mini dock connector add to the product? You'd have to buy a whole set of new accessories if they did that.

Not sure you would even notice it over the 330ppi screen however it would no longer be 330ppi at 3.99inches.

Headphone jack on same side as dock connector doesn't sound good to me, must be loads of situations that would cause problems.
Wouldn't surprise me if they made everyone's old docks obsolete. If it was to swap it for something more standard, like micro USB which is lying on every desk in the land, that would be ok.

The dock doe have a purpose though - it provides serial coms, audio and power plus some other proprietary stuff so there is value to using it over USB. If Apple were to swap it to something more standard they'd go and stick a Thunderbolt port on it because everyone has that...

Apple relocate headphone point, millions of fans shoot their loads.
Samsung release a new galaxy s which can read your thoughts, apple fans dont care.

Its not Apple that will do it, its the LCD manufacturer that will
Doubt its 6 months till the next iPhone - that would make it end of Nov release time. I would say if the product does not exist by now it will not be in the next iPhone. Real production would be starting very soon. Even the proto shown off with the high ppi was said to be another 3 months away from production.
As for those saying 500ppi would look awesome - only if you hold it right up close to your face. The whole point of the 'retina' statement if that beyond that you can't see the difference so it will make no difference.
As for bigger - I personally don't like bigger. I like the size of the current iPhone. I think a bigger screen yet but lets be different and make it edge to edge. Doing that you could get a 4" screen with minimal body size increase - this also would be more ground breaking than just making the phone bigger to fit a bigger screen.

I think having it on the bottom would be better if only for not having the cable hanging over the screen when trying to use it. Also, when you've finishd using the phone you put it in your pocket upside down so if headphones were connected with the jack on the bottom it wouldn't be an issue.
Suprised they didn't just leave it off and make everyone go out and buy BT headphones.
Was thinking this leak was a little early but looking back the iPhone 4S antenna was leaked 10 months before release.

Someone would need to pay samsung/sharp enough money to warrant them doing it and only Apple have it.
They won't make it edge to edge as it'd be registering touches with the side of your hand constantly whilst you're holding it.

Many ways of avoiding that. Having touch sensitive sides - it could then tell the difference between being held and being pressed. As said - that would be innovative rather than following the line bigger screen = bigger phone

I'd be happy if they kept it the same but doubled the battery life.

I agree with Jakey but for all phones, my HTC battery life is abysmal. Battery technology needs some major investment otherwise, or we need super efficient cpu's/ displays etc
