As above, might be buying one off a mate that is on three network, he is not on a contract with them, he just bought it and later changed to a 'S3. Whats the cheapest way to get them unlocked? I've heard that they're not easy unlocked unlike other networks

I did a load of research around this and how 3rd pary retaillers offer thesee factory unlocks for iPhones.
Turned up a load of stuff about how they do non-iphones with boxes but nothing about iPhones and registering the unlock via Apples database.
