oil filters got two holes for oil cooler pipes..but not using an oil cooler now so the holes are just open and i cant seem to take out the middle section of the filter.. what could i used to block the holes on the oil filter where to two pipes should go in???..

sounds like you are on about the oi cooler sandwich plate? the filter itself isnt part of that.

yeah thats it mate so no way of taking it off and just putting oil filter back on ?

the threaded part of it where the oil filter attaches unscrews from the oil pump which then removes the sandwich plate as well. you then need a shorter spigot to screw in which allows the oil filter to fit directly on to the oil pump.

ah right .... would i get away with just blocking the two holes up ?

if its part of the filter mount casing you cant take it off and you need to join the 2 holes up. try your local hydraulics company. if theres a nut on the threads where the filter screws on undo it and if its a sandwich plate this will then come off.

usually a big allen key in the centre of it to remove it if its the std oil cooler adapter.

A local engineering / hydraulics place will have plugs for the holes, likely a BSP thread with a dowty washer or JIC type thread. Even a local agricultural or HGV place will have that sort of fittings.
Thats if you cant just remove the sandwich plate

Thanks guys ..... Me and a friend did try the allen key job just was not budging at all .... Ill have another crack at it tonight

Do not block the holes up , when the thermostat opens inside that plate to let the oil go to the cooler it blocks its other path of so it you block the hole the oil can't circulate , either get the shorter bolt so you can do away with the plate or get a pipe made up to join the 2 holes together
