Go and play with one in a shop and decide is my best advice.
I was very skeptical about it but I was very impressed with it. Very well made.

Probs gonna get one of these for my daughter and get the mrs a full size one. I assume the minis are the same but smaller basically and £100 less.

It's more of a cross between the iPad 2 and 3 - similar non-retina display and same processor to the iPad 2 but with the cameras off the iPad 3 (there are more changes but that's the gist).

My sister in law was talking to me about these when I was with her yesterday.
I've not seen/played with an iPad mini yet but curious about them as their price point makes them more desirable than the full size one.
Might go into PC World later as they have an Apple store of sorts inside there.

I wouldn't personally consider the Mini, but having played with one I can definitely see the appeal.
Incredibly light and just sits well in your hands.
I still think the screen is a bit too small for proper web browsing, but seeing how little I actually use my current iPad I can't help but think it will suffice.

Wait for the retina display (that's what I'm doing). Will trade my iPad 3 with the OLD CONNECTOR for one when it comes

I personally wouldn't have one, the thing i like about my ipad is the size and how good it is for browsing, watching ipalyer etc...
i wouldn't want to browse on one any smaller, small browsing is kept to a minimum on my phone.

Sorry yeah, realise there's probs more detail involved, but with regards to the functionality my mrs and daugther will use them for, there's little difference than size.

Yeah Brett, hardly any other differences. Can even set up the same iTunes account for both and share purchased apps to save on buying games etc. for both devices.

If I catch either of them taking a video/picture with one they're getting a punch in the face

If I was to get an ipad and use my itunes account with it (which is also connected to my phone) would all my apps go onto the ipad or could I pick and choose which ones?
Just wouldnt want all my apps thats on my phone ending up taking up space on the ipad

What about the kindle fire hd? similar size as ipad mini, but better screen and dolby speakers and only £159 for 16gb. only thing you are tied to Amazon for apps and games but then the ipad is tied to itunes. music from itunes works on the kindle.
