Don't know why companies don't realise that if they sold this stuff at a realistic price, even if not making much profit to begin with, that the take up would be massive.

Yup! Although i'm not sure why they're so expensive, as RGB led bulbs are relatively cheap (plenty of chinese websites selling them) and you can get WiFi (no idea why the Philips Hue use Zigbee) controlled bulbs for a lot less (ie - www.surecart.com).

Munchie - Yes the app is free but then you'd hope it was after splashing out £45/50 per bulb.

Exactly, if it was the right price I'd be tempted to kit the whole house out, can run up to 50 bulbs.

This looks more reasonable, but doesn't look like they have an android app

Everyone buying them at a lower price surely equals more profit than some people buying them at a massively inflated price? Especially when it's something you really need to be selling on a massive scale.

Do you have to run these on a separate wifi network using the box provided?

Seen on the facebook page people complaining of having to change the connected wifi network to control the bulb then back to their home network, kind of looses some of its convenience.

Also, is that Mi-Light basically just this re-branded?

I get that for a lot of products, especially apple ones, remote colour changing LED lights will definitely be everywhere soon, definitely not something that will be high end for any length of time now.

They are usually the ones that have everything first, just look at 50 inch TV's and Galaxy S3's.
