Just bought a gsi corsa from fife as some of you's may know.
When I bought it the owner did a paper clip test which came back saying TPS was fucked. The car idled at 1800rpm and randomly the eml came on while driving.
He was a decent car so trusted him.
I thought it was more like a idle control valve needed changed so I ordered a TPS and a ICV.
Changed them both the other night no problem.
But it's weird, when I'm driving and I put my foot to the floor at ruffly 3000rpm there's like a flat spot then goes again. Dunno what it came be as it said the TPS. The throttle body was clean inside which I was surprised about, even the butterfly.
Anyone any ideas why it has that little pause?
Cheers for the help

Still having this bloody problem!
But at the weekend when driving the car the car keeps cutting out when driving, like if I'm coming up to a junction, going down the gears to car goes below 500rpm and cuts out.
Also if I'm stationary, the car will either idle at 500rpm but bounce about, or it will stay at 1200rpm and rev is tits off. Total pain in the arse. I've changed idle control valve and tps, any ideas?

My X16XE used to do exactly the same as this. Has it got a powerbox inlet on it? If so I'd put money on it being an airleak around the throttle body

Quick question ino this is off topic but Ive got an x16xe and I've had an oil problem and in short I need now crank bearings, is it possible to change them without taking the head off or pistons out ?

Yeah you can.
Turn engine over and take sump off. And you'll see the bearings on crank

The engine is all still in the car, I've been told by the bloke I bought the car off said you need to take the head off and take the pistons out?
