Fog lights are a wonderful invention - everyone wishes to see them, but only if the weather is clear.
Ensure that you switch them on and dazzle every other motorist.
Conversely, when there actually is fog, do not worry about switching on your normal vehicle lights, never mind your
fog lights. All vehicles are fitted with radar as standard to enable to see
your vehicle, even in the thickest pea-soup fog

I bet your car looked well cool with them on - any fine or accident as a result of dazzling would be worth it.

Police pulled me over for having a rear light out. They were going to fine me, but i told them that it doesn't say anywhere in the highway code to check everylight on the car before driving. And in theory he was giving a ticket out for the hell of it. I got a verbal warning and he got on his way

Did you do it the way you said you was gonna?
Police pulled me a couple of months ago for no number plates. Let off.
And two nights ago for no rear number plate light, brake light out and no front number plate. Let off.
Guess it depends how you talk to them.

lots of cars have them wired up to main beam, doubt they have a light on the dash board then.

front fogs usually have a warning light, as they can be turned on with just sidelights on
whereas front driving lights (like 106 gti's) only come on with the main beam so therefore are included in the main beam light on the dash

well i can turn my front spot/fogs on whenever i want has it was a pain in the ass trying to wire em up to the side/head lamp, so i just wired em up to the battery direct, and theres a switch near the gear knob which looks pretty cool, everyone always asks whats that red switch for?
