got to let 70% light through.so u could only get a 20% tints as standard glass is already tinted

you are, the new law (from 1/1/04) says, all windows forward of centre pillar must be at least 70% VLT. no restrictions on the back windows, as its not a requirement for an MOT

actually, the new law says that you cant tint any window forward of the B pillar. so get your facts rite before you start spouting off.

but not even the police seem to be bothered about it

This law is ricdiculas will destroy a fair few small business's all cos of some twat on a motorbike being killed by some twat in (probably) nova with those stick on films.

I think the police will be taking this law with a pinch of salt, i.e people like the scotsman who r going to go and get midnight tints u cant see out of are going to get stopped and a rectification notice, but if your sensible dont drive like a twat and dont have too dark windows then i think you'll be fine!

i dont drive like a twat!, im only sayin the ppl I kno that have midnight tints, they can see perfectly clear with them on, therefore there shouldnt b a problem
