what boost are you running?
most turbo engines need some sort of dump valve, recirculating types are best

It is on a punto that I have been looking at. It has a 360 degree roller bearing hybrid turbo, so I am told. It has also been chipped, but the chip is programmed to run standard at the moment. If I do buy it I will be getting the chip reprogrammed to run more boost.
the reason I ask about the dump valve is beacause it did have one but he had it removed when the new turbo was fitted. It currently has a cork where the dump was

A hybrid turbo is a bit of a bullsh1t term. In saying that I wouldn't know anything about its specific spec.
As said most engines have recirculating ones as standard, and they are there for a reason.

What is it that makes a hybrid turbo an hybrid turbo? Surely a turbo is a turbo.

a turbo with uprated internals...
i had twin hybrids on the supra
both ran std turbo housing, but with uprated shafts, bigger blades, 360 bearings etc
The GT has a recirc Dv as std....
If you buy it, make sure you can run more boost before you increase it. An uprated turbo will flow more air than a std unit at the same boost pressure. An uprated turbo doeast not mean you can just run more boost, it needs fuel/air

your car probably has an MD103 made by turbo dynamics. is the same basic IHI unit which has been bored out so to speak and has bigger wheels. full boost at 3500rpm and it will hold boost as well. std turbo has 360 bearings. as for the chip. please explain more. also does it have a FMIC or not. any other mods?
and it should have a DV either an atmospheric one or a recirc. the standard DV is found behind the air flow meter
