my 1l 12v corsa keeps failing its mot on the emmissions, is
there any additives i could use or any tricks to get it to pass,
i changed the spark plugs and gave the engine a service and the emissions are worse now than before.
i dont really want to shell out for a new cat or even a lambada sensor quite yet

An Ecotek widget http://www.ecotekplc.co.uk will help with the emissions, but you might get annoyed with the sound so you'll need a filter to shut it up.

The cats so expensive on your 1L because the cat is part of the manifold if im not mistaken thats why its exp n the best treetment to use is forte but its trade only

cats is very expensive for these, ive got one ... also the 1.2 16v has a similar cat as part of the downpipe.
after much shopping around , i found one for about £180 if i remember correclty (poss bosal) , was two years ago, but it may have been trade only...
best bet is to ring load and loads of suppliers , someone will have one in. also if the rest of the system (mid part at least) is still original , its one piece and you will need to cut it and get a sleeve piece to fit the cat ,not that easy on these , the bolts on the manifold arent very easy to get to and the `cat` assembly has a lot of pipe attached (down to about the gearlever) ...
