Bubble gum should do it, but if its erroded through i would either remove it and dry it thoroughly before welding it, or the easy option is to get a second hand tank, they aint to hard to fit

Clever bastard would be answering a question thats so open it could be a whores dung button.
Just change the tank, if its started to rust it will only get worse. I got a mint one for a tenner from scrappies, easy to change.

dont get a second hand 1 a new 1 is a better investment and not that expensive but for a quick fix run the tank right down clean the area up n put sum fiberglass bridger on it n smooth it over then a bit or pain or underdseal when its dry works a treet ( gota run the tank down empty tho)

New tanks are about £80 so not much - just buy a new one...

£65, or £10. Your tank must have lasted 10 years by now, so if you can get a £10 used tank off a late corsa B then why not save £55 and do that? Underseal it and it will easily outlast your car (or at least your ownership).
