basically a mate at work has bought a phone on contract, forget wich model it is and its from phones4u.
he took it back today wanting to change it and they told him he couldnt return the phone or swap it for another handset.
is there not a 14day period where you can take it back if your unhappy with the phone in anyway.

If there was cooling off period, and there doens't necessarily need to be one depending on how he took out the contract, it would be on cancelling the contract as a whole, not exchanging the phone.

sometimes the cooling off period doesn't 'count' if you took it out in-store, over the phone or internet you're covered through the distance sales act
