Hi,
Seeing as there seems to be a few people on here to design/host websites I was wondering if anyone could share some forums/links discussing generating more website traffic.
We sell kids designer stuff online, at the moment we have approximately 1500 hits a day, 80% of the traffic is coming from google, 7% through referals and the rest is direct. We do the whole twitter/facebook thing, and also have emails in the pipeline which will be sent to our existing customers talking about new products/deals we have on at the moment. We're doing some work with Froogle too so it stays updated.
Any recommendations or links are welcome!
Cheers

Adwords does seem to be a popular one these days. It's something I've been looking into myself recently.
The more you spend on Adwords, the higher the return apparently (I guess as with anything though tbh!)

Best bet is look at your strongest customers...
Do some google trend analysis and try to steal their market.

okay but what does that actually mean? - Im always having a look at analytics to see where everyones clicking and top search words we're picking up on. Our good existing customers are always looked after and we are putting more energy into customer service. Also doing discount vouchers online for free delivery and stuff.

nah, I don't mean look at your own google analytics... that just tells you where your people are coming from.
Basically google trend analysis, involves figuring out what the general public are searching for to find things ... and then looking at where they're mostly searching and placing yourself in that space so you absorb the traffic.
