I have a tv with freeview built in, but because i am in rented dont want to drill a hole in the wall to put arial through to bedroom. I want freeview in my bedroom and was wondering whether a transmitter would work if freeview is built in to tv

you mean the freeview is built into the bedroom tv? That won't work, you would have to put the sender on a freeview box downstairs. Personally I found them rubbish and ended up going for a permanent wire.

If you could get a scart-out feed from your TV, you'd need to leave you TV on downstairs for it to work. Only way is to use a seperate freeview box down stairs and then use a scart transmitter on that. Although why don't you use an indoor aerial in your bedroom?

I'd buy a second freeview box just to output it to the transmitter, be the best way, not exactly expensive to buy a cheap one either.

Freeview box is cheap it's the transmitter that's going to cost especially if you want one that is semi-decent....
