Anyone using this at work?
I have a situation where we have a main RD server and various VDIs which are basically Win7 running on ESXi with Remote Desktop enabled, I've had a little read up about Connection Broker but only seems to be concerned with Windows 2008 servers, I'd like to use the connection broker to check the username that is connecting and forward it to their personal Windows 7 instance. Anyone in the know - know if its possible?
Cheers

I don't think it's possible BUT, could you connect from the web and use some code that reads the username from a session and passes the correct .rdp file for the end user to download

Its for use with thin clients pow, the latest software (smart zero) only allows a single RDP entry configured, which needs to be re-configured if you want to connect to a different server.
For the majority of applications this is fine but I need something for the other 10% :/

Don't think that's a go-er Willay, I've setup RDS Connection Brokers (clustered) and session hosts in 2012 R2 and the session hosts (or windows 7 VMs in your case) are running a server role.
Not sure if it differs in 2008.
