i know its 6 speed, but do people fit them with the c20xe for a bigger top speed or does it not slow the acceleration down compared to the 5 speed box?

F28 is 280lb/ft to be exact, and F20 being only 200lb/ft.

Sri will have a f13 gearbox and about 75lb/ft of torque.

I dont think the question was about torque and what power they can take. It was can you fit it to the c20xe.

Yes you can, but they are about 20kg heavier (ish I think) cost a fortune to buy, would need converting to 2wd, and might be a pain to fit, depending on the car.

reason i said it was cos i should think the majority of people who stick em on 2.0 n/a is for the extra torque they can handle.

no one has over 200lb/ft on a c20xe n/a for a road car. I think to get that much you need to use aircraft fuel (or whatever it is) and if you do that then you wont have the extra weight of the box. You will have a quaife gear set etc....

Only difference between an F28, is abit of weight, a 6th gear and the extra torque that the F28 can handle.

Only reason to fit one to a C20XE is for a cruising gear..

Ratios are EXACTLY the same between the F20 and the F28 so erm.. that wouldnt happen.

all in his head ; unless his old gearbox was fucked.

in theory the only other advantage would be the ability to save fuel on motorway journeys because of the lower revs in 6th gear, and a higher top speed, if the aerodynamics of the car allowed it to.

c14se will have the F13 5 speed gearbox as standard. Your car was not fitted with an F15 as standard. The only Corsas fitted with the F15 were the pre 1995 C16XE GSi's and and the post 1995 X16XE engines found in some GSi's and all Sport 1.6's. Post 1995 GSi's, (there were a few) were fitted with the F13 gearbox. Odd.
