Ive Just Provisanlly Sold my car and it was running mint but now it wont idle...
When i run the revs to 2rpm and upwards it will jerk then start to drive..
and when i boot it to try and clean it gets worse..Also wen i did the clutch or go in neutral it will rev high as fuck...
And then when i stop the lights on the dash will Flicker and then Cut out...then when i re start it its at 1500-2000rpm.. And will idle at around 400 and sounds shit but maybe because thats it nearly cuttin out any ideas..
as i wanna try and sort it out be4 the new owner comes and gets it..

Time to clean the old ICV.
Might be airflow meter as thats what mine used to do.

The EML comes on for 3 secs and then goes off but only after it wont idle ect

Clean your ICV mate... did it just suddenly happen ? If it did i would check for vac leaks aswell

sounds like afm to me my old one jolted acelerating and coming down when you take foot off accelerator

Mine was Airflow meter tbh on my old 2.0.
Get some carb cleaner with a straw and put the straw down the breather hose from the ICV to the airbox, refit the hose and start the engine... as you rev the engine spray loads down.
It will try and die but just keep revving... do half a can and see if it helps.
This is the cheapest option matey before changing sensors etc etc

Well my afm has got that Mixture screw on it..And ive just done a Job for a mechanic and he said its sounds to be chockin it self defo nws his stuff..So he said just Turn the afm screw a quater and try that...
So got a mate in mechanicing nw lol...

Right
Ive fitted a new Icv to it...A few weeks ago and a new Cts and it was running sweet and nw this has happend..
Should i try the Afm 1st buy very slightly adjusting the Mixture?

Right ive been outside and fitted the other icv i had...No i cant have 3 fucked icv plus i tested them buy blockin the hose off and it just stall and dies...So cant be that..
ive took all the Tb apart and checked for air leaks..My car is revin at 2.5k and 3krpm..
And i got a wiff of Petrol fumes...The Eml light came on the other day when it started to play up...But like i said it wasnt on for to long maybe 3 secs if that put if defo came on...
The only thing left for me to try is the Mixture Screw on Afm....as its revs really high...

dont piss about trying to adjust the mix.
Find someone who has a spare air flow meter

Update
Changed the ICV again to a different one and its perfected but when i rev its past 3k and then let go it will just Stall and cut out...
