There was a thread in the last 6 months or so i think, where someone calculated the average the xbox used in an hour or 1 session or something.

It's anything between 5-50MB an hour, depends on the game you're playing. Obviously this excludes any game updates.
How comes you're with Supanet? Last time I looked at them they were horrendously expensive for what you got.

Hmm something doesn't add up there then. My Dad chose them years ago and he's just never changed for whatever reason. Changing now though! Going with BT and getting a free wireless N hub.

I've recently started watching sky through the sky player on my xbox, had no complaints from my ISP, so think a little bit of gaming would be far less.

My Dad is calling them today to get details. I still don't buy it, I reckon they've cocked up.

This thread is full of Fail..
"How much Internet"
"15mb an hour"
In data terms mb (megabytes per second) is maximum data speed not really a measurement of usage.
Thats like saying "40mph per hour"..

If the xbox uses on average 15mb of data an hour that's a perfect (if not only) way to describe it

Seems a perfectly logical way to figure out how much bandwidth you've consumed to me.

Even reading the post again,

Since when has mb meant megabytes per second?
Mb means Megabits, MB MegaBytes, neither measured against a unit of time.

mb isn't megabits per second either though, it's megabits, just bits, not per anything.

Lowercase it still technically doesn't mean anything. As you stated before, it's either Mb (or Mbit) or MB. Kilobit is represented in lowercase as kb or kilobyte is kB.
Nath - If you look on the xbox forums there are few posts about bandwidth usage with most of them being 30-50MB per hour (was a thread with a guy saying half full Halo game was using 45MB an hour). Apparently it averages around 60-150kBps in game.
If you really want to find out then you can always proxy (something like CC Proxy is a piece of piss to setup) the xbox through your PC, so you basically use your PC as a gateway instead of the router, and fire up a bandwidth meter.
