So I still have about 4 months (payments) left on my contract with O2. Been checking out the iPhone 4 16GB contracts with them but they seem quite expensive in comparison to other networks.
Cheapest/affordable deal with O2 seems to be:
£37/month = £140.99 handset, 300 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data
Best deals I've seen so far seem to be with Three:
£30/month = £99 handset, 300 mins, 5000 texts, 500MB data
£35/month = £29 handset, 500 mins, 5000 texts, 1GB data
£35/month = £69 handset, 2000 mins, 5000 texts, "all you can eat data"
Anyone on here with Three that has an iPhone? Opinions on network/customer service levels from Three?
I am considering getting an iPhone 4, and selling my HTC which will be used to pay off the remaining months on my current O2 contract.
I know I should be sensible and just wait until August and then get a new contract with whoever but I'm impatient!

That top contract is decent, but at the end of the day three is shit.
Just wait till August, iPhone 5 may be out then too.

Its just a well known fact.
A bit like when people ask what are AOL or Tiscali like for broadband, natural response is "they are shit".

Personally I've found Three to be brilliant. Customer service is all outsourced to India, but they've always solved my problems quick enough.
Prices are good and signal strength/speed is excellent.

Current rumour is the involved chip manufacturers have stated that production won't be geared up 'til later this year, so fall 2011/spring 2012 release....

Yeah, iPhone 5. Current rumour is that it won't be getting release in June/July and instead it's scheduled for a fall 2011/spring 2012 release. Kinds of makes sense if the white iPhone is getting release at the end of the month/start of May.

Edit - Back to topic, can't say i've ever used Three for 2G but their 3G is pretty decent from the dongle i used.

I think tescos are cheapest, but I'd never go with a supermarket myself, purely so I don't have to admit it!
I don't think you get visual voicemail on tescos?

I have a Tesco iPhone4 and it's great.
I just wish I'd gone for the 32gb version as I've run out of space with only half my music collection

Same, but I did go for the 32gb version. Not had a propblem with tesco, im actually using that sim in my Nokia and it shows as 'o2' in the corner, think it shows 'Tesco' on the iPhone though.
Aren't three just Orange now?

Not really. It's no different to any other network, some people have problems some don't.

Even if a supermarket could save you hundreds over any other network, you still wouldn't go for them? What about other MVNO operators like Virgin, GiffGaff etc?

Think i'm going to buy a white iPhone 4 outright when they're released next week and stick a GifGaff sim in it when my contract runs out the month after. Do they use o2's network?

Cool. Gone o2 > Tesco > GifGaf. I'll use your link when the time comes.

Three have the best deal around for the iPhone 4 - Fact. Especially now hotspot has been introduced to the phone so now its a mobile phone and mobile broadband all in one contract
