Likely to drop much in price after Christmas? wondering whether to wait or not. I'm currently on o2 and they want £47 a month to get it free or £42 a month and pay £49.99. o2 is the only signal i can get at my house, haven't tried three before though so not sure whether to try them? few years ago their signal was useless anywhere near my town but think its improved recently im told?

Best bet is to get a PAYG sim card from Three, and then put in a spare phone, see what the signal's like.
Their coverage map on the website says I should get full signal around here but it can be patchy sometimes.
As for pricing, who knows - but I doubt it TBH. Wasn't there someone on here that works for O2, he may be better placed to answer this question.

they wont drop till a new one comes out, they never have because people keep buying them whatever the price.

With my iPhone I'm on that £35/month plan with Three, I get 1GB data but I never go anywhere near the limit and I always read my emails/go on Facebook pretty much every day when I'm out and about.
Don't even think I use 500MB TBH, but then I guess it depends on how often you reckon you'd be using it. If it's just while you're on lunch breaks at work or when you're out then you should be fine, but 500MB seems a bit lame as an allowance TBH (lame as in what they are offering).

ive gone over 500mb once in over 18 months and use my phone for internet and facebook all the time (was just having this discussion with john!)
if you download an app called onavo it cuts your data use (by a third for me so far) without any sort of reduction in speed, its magic.

despite all the people who claim to use sooo much data every month, you have to do a hell of a lot of heavy duty work to go over 500/750MB tbh, i.e. streaming a ton of videos, radio etc.. FB/Twitter/surfing is not gonna take you much over 500MB

All your data is routed via their servers and compressed, similar to Opera's mobile browsers. There are obvious security implications with this.
And with data, if you stick to the apps for facebook/twitter and mobile sites then you'll be alright; otherwise it's relatively easy to eat data (ie: a youtube video can be 30/40mb)

I get unlimited on PAYG, just checked my useage:
Last reset: Never
Sent: 20.1mb
Recieved: 101.2mb
Just get a 4 if you're not going to use Siri (which you won't once the noveltys worn off), there's no difference.

You'll have an old phone though, who wants to have an old phone?
I bet even the non geeks are getting wise to paupers with the black line beside the headphone socket and their old iphones.

The sort of people who buy apple ( ) are really concious about people knowing stuff like that though so they'll always be worried.

True. I'm just saying of you must buy an iphone just get a 4 for £250 off Gumtree. No point spending £7-800 on a 4S for 18 months just for one feature and black line.
Siri will even be on i4 after they release the 4S jb which is pretty much done they're just waiting for 5.1 to drop.
