I'm not sure many people said 'anything' bigger was oversized but many people like myself are not a fan of the huge 4.5"+ displays where the phone is significantly bigger than the 4/4S i.e. Galaxy Nexus. I think Apple have been clever in how they have increased the screen size by reducing the surround meaning the phone is not actually that much larger. Decreasing the thickness also helps make it feel no bigger to the user.
Many people will still buy them even if its not ideal because for many it will still be the best upgrade path, specially those that have invested in apps etc its the logical choice.

My phone gets around 4-5 hours of constant use a day since I travel on the train for 3 hours a day listening to muisc and scrolling twitter etc. I also use the eBay app to manage my eBay shop, then there's the normal calls, texts, whatsapp with the Mrs throughout the day.
I don't think I've had so much value per £ from any other luxury I've ever bought. For example I spent £11k on my car and I must use it for 20 mins each day and the rest of the time it sits on the station car park or my drive at home depreciating and nearing its next service,tax or MOT bill. It's all relative.

It's definitely going to be too big.
Looks like that's a compromise that has to be made if you want the latest phone though

Don't get me wrong, I'll probably get one shortly after release but speculating about stuff to a ridiculous level of detail is just pointless IMO.
