Find the brown/yellow wire in the footwell (Should be one of the ones joined onto the original loom)
Get a piece of wire and where ever you have joined it stick the section of wire in along with it, and earth it (Usually the 13mm nut that holds the dash on does fine)
That'll bring up your flash codes.
1 long flash equals 10/20/30 etc shorter flashes represent 1/2/3/4 etc.
Count your flashes then google 'topbuzz' lists all management types & fault codes.
it will flash 12 or 13 to signal the start & end of the test.

Other than 'car does not start' what other symptoms are there
Getting fuel? Getting spark?
When doing flash codes it may flash up crank sensor no signal of its not ran, mine showed this.

Hi all, was working with generation today on this, and its a mystery. Will sometimes fire but die very quickly, doesnt run at all, turns over freely.
This is the main concern, what is this connector for? -> http://www.dragon2309.co.uk/allcorsa/mark2.0/DSC_0662%20%28Custom%29.JPG
Someone mentioned it being an ignition live? Surely the engine wouldnt fire at all if it didnt have that. Also, i've metered the ECU harness connector and the ECU is getting power fine, although for some reason it seems to be getting power in pin 27 (igniotin live) but its getting it all the time, even when ignition is off. Related???
There was a spare earth strap floating around above the gearbox, attached that to nearest bit of metal just to see if it helkped. It didnt, but thats here -> http://www.dragon2309.co.uk/allcorsa/mark2.0/DSC_0667%20%28Custom%29.JPG ......... Which goes off down here -> http://www.dragon2309.co.uk/allcorsa/mark2.0/DSC_0668%20%28Custom%29.JPG
Theres also this one -> http://www.dragon2309.co.uk/allcorsa/mark2.0/IMG_1651%20(Custom).JPG Whcih is by the thermostat housing, the spade terminal clips onto the earthing pin on the stat housing, but the loom plug is completely wrong, i dont get that bit at all.
Cheers all for any help, appreciated.
Dave
*EDIT* - in reply to other posts, its getting fuel fine, checked pressure in the rail. It's getting spark but the old plugs were very black, replaced plugs. It turns over freely, fires occasional, but dies quickly. Dave

Correct firing order?
That single black wire could be the ecu ignition live.

Does the EML come on with the ignition?
When i built mine it wouldnt fire up, i ended up tossing the loom for another one and it fired up first turn.
Going by the state of the coolant temp sensor wiring (blue plug with earth spade) that loom has seen better days.

I'll ask one more time, why do you think you can't flash the codes?

Whats your ECU live wired into ? Should be a black wire.
There is an ignition live runs from the cabin into the engine loom, mine didnt have the plug like that on it as the loom had already been used in a conversion.
