Took it apart no worries, tried holding the chip down, to be honest it didnt even seem to have come loose, stuck some coins aswell, same problem, no big deal, will just have to get a new one at some point. Are the slims any good?

Regarding hard drive the old ones don't fit on the new ones
Alternatively u could pick up a cheap arcade one
Or else it means transferring data from old to new with transfer kit

mine had E74, it worked for abit if i forced an overheat, i ended up taking it to bits and butchering another broken xbox where the lazer had gone in the disc drive,

remember if you change your board the discdrive is coded the the main board so you either need to flash the drive or replace both
