I always kind of liked the original dock connector. the adapter looks ridiculous

the more you look at the dock adapter, u see its the 1" connector then the big black bit at the bottom, looks so crap

To be fair, they introduced the iPhone with the original iPod dock conector, and it's about 5 years overdue that it received a smaller plug.

Probably hard pressed to fit the old one in this new thinner form factor.
