If I'm looking at that correctly you will see the square bit, it will be square with an indent in the middle.
I think most people are looking at it as if that square bit is on the bottom of the button and will be beneath the glass.

Same with my Bro's. Making his phone do ridiculous things such as calling people and flicking between menu's.

That'll' be from all the shite that gets in the gap between the button and the glass. Maybe wash your hands more often

What he said. It's quite common for the current button to rotate due to only having the 2 small rubber tabs breaking down, a large square backing under the glass will stop that happening. A 2 piece visible button will look ugly and takes away the design simplicity of apple.
It's just the angle that makes it look like that. Macrumors report agrees it won't be visible as well.

Fair do's.
The badly repaired one I have here the button can move about 90 degrees, I get why they'd do that.
Why are people so amazed at a redesign then

Nobody could give a fuck, but everybody finds it amazing that SOMETHING has leaked from the tight to their chest company, Apple.

i think its more a case of a new piece of hardware confirms a new phone, even though it doesnt really need confirmation anyway due to the fact that everyone knows its coming.

Surprised they haven't replaced it with a capacitive button, certainly would sort the problems with it malfunctioning. Although saying that, they can be a tad sensitive at times.

Dear Apple, I don't give a fuck about having a roundrect button. I know you love them and claim to have invented them, but people will only care about it if you place something solid state underneath it.
Ta babs.

I could do without a home button on my iPad, I find it awkward to use whereas the multi-taking gestures are much easier, not sure I could do without it on the iPhone yet though unless they come up with a really easy way of getting back 'home without it.
Its ironic because recently Apple have been terrible for leaking stuff yet, we pretty much had every iPad 3 part weeks prior to release yet the Samsung GS3 which is due to be release in a week...zilch.

It has to be bigger because they need a 1280x720 screen now, only problem is they can't make it bigger and still be all glass, would be too heavy and too rigid.
Will be a new design.

Reports are saying that liquid metal is still a few years off use in a case. Only use so far has been a tiny SIM ejection tool

Apparently they have or they are building a cafe in town away from their campus so that Apple employees can leave the office and go for lunch without leaving prototypes lying around for people to find
