Strange, must be something draining yours somewhere?
I've got WiFi on, location services, 3g etc etc

Turn off bluetooth, that's normally good for draining battery.

auto brightness off
set push to not check as often.
I use my phone all day (I take calls from family and browse interweb). Always end up with over 70% when I go to bed.

Got half the location services turned off, bluetooth off, push set to manual, brightness at about 60%, auto lock to 1 min.
Ill try turning auto brightness off and LED flash alerts.
It's not bad by any means, I'd class 4.5hours of usage a day as being fairly heavy and to still have 25% left at night so don't know what I'm moaning about really

What's the deal with the maps and using it as sat nav? Is it free or does it use data? I'm guessing the latter as it uses location settings?

Alex - fuck that's mint. I can't get over 6 hours usage. Last nights was 5.5 hours usage, 15hrs standby and 7% left.
Guy on twitter posted this morning 11.36 hours usage, 2.5days standby, how the fuck
Just spent 15 mins in carphone warehouse on an S3. I thought they'd sorted scrolling out, obviously not, it does not like scrolling left and right through app pages smoothly neither does it on websites that contain any sorts of images. Screen is very vibrant, but no where near as pin sharp as iphone 4/5, you can clearly see the pixels especially on the edges of app icons. Also took a photo of me holding it naturally and my thumb could only reach 2/3rd's up the screen at best making all the UI buttons above that point useless unless you have both hands free. Watched a video that had been uploaded to it, again very impressive colours ruined by the occasional stutter. Phone didn't crash once though and I was pushing it. Best thing by far was the speed of the camera.
Jon/Steve will be along in a min to tell me scrolling etc is perfect and must have been broken and that I can't make an opinion from 15 mins usage. TBF if you can overlook the little things its OK at best.

only thing i can think is the display models could have some kind of processor intensive live wallpaper going on, or some other shit installed, or generally just fucked because of the amount of people coming in playing with them
no chance will general use even dent a quad core 2gb ram phone

no general type use will cause a stutter on it, if you watch the cpu usage whilst doing stuff it barely goes above 1%. I played a 720p video on it the other day and the cpu wasnt even above 20%
if its stuttering its not down to the phones hardware, or OS will be something else going on, some crap installed, or a dodgy live wallpaper

Yeah had some dodgy live wallpaper tbf, look like the weather because it was raining. Also forgot it was probably running ICS and don't think they introduced 'project butter' until JB...could be wrong.
My thumb at full stretch...pulling notification center down with one hand, impossible.

yeah the phone does take some sliding around at times to reach areas, something you get used to doing though and you find ways to move the phone in one hand to get to areas then you end up doing it instinctively after a while
its big but brilliant for watching films on

I can watch 1080p (correct usage Ian) videos, over WiFi. That's how powerful it is, certainly doesn't stutter.

How often do you spend with your phone in 1 hand though? Every time I use mine I use both hands!

all the time, at work, uni, pub, town, bog. a phone too big to use with one hand is a proper ballache.
i still dont think the s3 screen is big enough to watch films on.

Do people not turn their phone sideways to view websites, and therefore use both hands then?
