you must have the wrong sized thumbs because apple made the screen that size because thats how far everyones thumb can reach

No its shorter and narrower than an S3 - If you can't reach the top row with your thumb you need to be looking at the likes of the iphone 4 and smaller android phones (S2 & S3 will be too big)

I did struggle at times to pull the notification centre down with one hand or hit a back button placed in the top right corner on the iPhone 5 but then I have small hands.

I just put my s3 right next to a 5 and the phone itself is only about 5mm taller, however because the screen is larger it takes more movement to reach areas. Id say it makes better use of the space for screen.
Cant work out why the iphone still has such large areas top and bottom of the screen seems wasted space

I guess they need the space at the bottom for the home button and to have a wide section at the bottom and a narrow section at the top would look a bit odd.

Pink thing keeps happening and a random stupid glow round the screen, went to apple shop on Saturday they said to send it off, as I wanted to back it up before doing it there and then.
How long does it take from the moment you send the phone away to the moment its back?

Never sent one away so not sure. Did they offer to just replace it in the store (if you didn't need to back it up)?
Is this still the same one with the dodgy camera?

No, because I didn't want to ask incase they did. I've gone through from the iphone4 all my contacts numbers (dave - 0789123456) replaced with iphone 5's number with (dave@facebook.com) which pissed me off. So last thing I want to do is do that again, well over 200 contacts were affected.
Yes, still the same one, quite scratched now too, although a bumper thing (which is proper shit) came yesterday.

Nope, not really. Still at 85% profit in 1.5 year! Yes it could be more. The trend over 2012 is still an upward one (ignoring the product release spikes)

Size and OS are the only differences.
Do you want a large or a huge phone?
Do you want iOS or Android?

Oh, and do you want a phone that's made of cheap plastic or one that's made of cheap aluminium?
S3 feels like a toy, compared to the iPhone.
iPhone (black one) sheds paint by the minute.

Not overly keen on the size of the s3, Think this is maybe what's putting me off the phone.
Not really fussed about iOS or android, Used to have HTC's before iphone come out.
I can pick up a brand new s3 in white from a mate for £250.

yes the phone is big(ger) but its not like its just bigger with the same size screen is it, the phone is bigger because it has a good sized screen that is far more useable if you are wanting it for media purposes eg watching films.
Argument should be do you want a smaller screen thus smaller phone or a larger screen thus larger phone
everytime i pick up my mates iphone it feels old fashioned and small compared to the s3 when youve got used to it mainly because the screen is small and pokey, and the large blank areas above the screen and below

Have you considered the One X? Despite the framerate issues when recording film clips it looks like a great phone.

Saying a phone feels old fashioned because it's smaller
Does your GS3 feel old fashioned when you pick up a Note? Must be horrible after using a Nexus 7.
