Right i just changed my gearbox oil because the gears were filling abit sticky and now its a bit better.
But when i was doing it i never fully took the diff plate of i just loosened the bolts so that the old oil just ran out. Then i filled it back up until oil started to run out of the level hole.
Would this have been an ok way the change the oil?

Yeah, thats how you are meant to do it.
Worth doing on any car as its rarely done with service intervals.

you should have took it off altogether though and fitted a new gasket! What oil did you use?

I thought Vauxhall gearboxes were grease filled, not oil filled.

thats exactly how it says too do it in the haynes manual.
only a 1 spanner job. keep meaning too do mine too.

they dont have gaskets, but my gearbox is way past oil changes

doubt it, mine has never been changed after doing 147k but tis gonna get done soon, im curioous if it will do anything.

I used 80/90 manual gearbox oil

Yes they do, all f13/f15 gearboxes use gaskets they dont have any face to face joints!
