i think either my clutch or gearbox have gone.
the gearstick dosent feel "spring loaded" anymore, the clutch pedal will go in and out, but my gearstick just feels loose, and it sets off very very very slowly from 1st, making clunking noises, and gearchanges dont seem to make much difference.
any ideas?

I feel that getting no replies is better than getting 50 which say "FUCK knows", ive never had a problem like that with mine, so i dont know. Sorry

start the car up and try and pull away with the handbrake on. if the rev's keep rising and the cars not really pulling anywhere then your clutch is shagged.

if the gearstick doesnt feel spring loaded anymore? id suggest the linkage is faulty

get it checked it may only cost £20

i got a whole 1.0l 12V engine and gearbox. engine needs new head gasket. but gearbox is fine, done 30,000 miles.
