Right....... there's some of this stuff on ebay for £13 a roll (100cm by 60cm) about the size i need for doors (with a little left for behind the speaker)

but can't find anything on google for w100 ivanhoe.... so whats the w100 bit about? his auction description is a bit vague.

or does anyone know where i should look for about 2 sheets of 100cm by 60cm cheap... like same price as ivanhoe as that often gets good reviews

also, will these fit in corsa B front doors with adaptors? not sure what the mounting depth means as i've looked at the biggers one (which i have at the moment) and they have lower values

ivanhoe sound deadening is good stuff. but i recomend you use 2 layers and your sound deadening will be top notch. but your car will be heavy as hell

especially when you look at the price of dynamat

the place i work at sells a roll of ivanhoe 100x60 for £10

If them infinitys are of a lower power rating, then thats a good indication the magnet will be smaller. (less magnet force holding voice coil in place so less power needed to move it)

where do you work? thats a good price.

those infinitys are 45w rms.... at current i've got the larger 16.5cm version of them in with 100w rms and they aren't the best fit, although they do just go. was just a bit unsure why the mounting depth appeared to be larger on the smaller ones

i work in just a small audio place in newcastle, but obviously the £10 doesnt include postage

can you not find the mounting depth of the 45wrms ones?

# 2-way 5.25" (13cm) speakers (pair)
# Plus One+ poly woofer cone with hi-roll rubber surround
# rotating UniPivot silk dome tweeter
# power range: 2-45 watts RMS (135 watts max power)
# frequency response: 67-21,000 Hz
# sensitivity: 91 dB
# top-mount depth: 2-5/16"

whereas... mounting depth on the 17cm = top-mount depth: 1-7/8"

which means absolutely nothing to me

ok

so the mounting depth on the
17cm speakers = just under 2 inches

and

13cm speakers = just under 2 and a half inches

ok, thanks for that.

that makes no sense though, why would the smaller speakers have a larger mounting depth.

yeah i agree it doesnt make much sense.

my theory is
the 17cm speakers have a good quality magnet material and so its force is stronger and requires less space.
the 13cm speaker has an inferior magnet material and so more of it is needed and its strength is less. (hence the lower RMS)

thats all i can think of that makes sense
