ive got a top end pioneer plasma, had it for about 3 months, and i noticed yesterday that their was a bit of image burn!!!!! 
ive got my pc connected to it, and it was the background desktop pic that was slightly burned in the screen due to same pic been displayed for too long i guess!!!
but when i changed the channel and watched other stuff, it went
is this normal??? or something to act on?? e.g put brightness low and screen saver to come on sooner??

as you said set screen saver so its on quicker etc

its just i thought screen burn don't happen unless same image is on for hours etc and im sure i dont have it on for hours on end! my screen saver comes on in 5min intervals, also i thought it was the lower end plasmas would suffer this

shouldnt do, ring their support and see if what they say? shouldnt burn on in a few mins?

i took out extended gaurantee but don't think screen burn is covered under that anyway!!
yeah i will give pioneer a ring and see what they say

i sometimes have the same problem at home when ive had a program with a logo in the corner on for ages and turn over to see the logo still 'burnt' and visible, they do dissapear after a while

Pioneer are well known for bad screen burn especially the 6 series.
Panasonics suffer virtually none but an LCD is what you really should have bought if you wanted it for gaming and PC use.

For watching films then plasmas are still the king, LCDs still have a little way to catch up in terms of constrast/blacks. And LCDs also suffer from screen burns but not to the extent of plasmas.
Still most more screens will have anti-burn features, like moving the pixels slightly to try and counter screen burn or screen dimming etc.
Eitherway, use a screen saver and you won't have many problems

thats the weird thing mate, my screensaver comes on every 5 mins after non activity
and i dont have the same image on the screen for tooo long, only when im surfing the net or on msn
its a 7th series pioneer plasma so it should have some sort of anti screen burn technology?? anyway ive set the screen saver for 1min now lol!
what colour background would be best to use??
and what type and colour screen saver would be best??
