Mine used to run at about 88 all the time unless i got into traffic then it'll hit almost 100 then the fan will come on.

Anyways, I've just changed the stat because last week the engine would not get upto temp. Stat sticking open.

I've flushed the system and put some clean antifreeze in but now it's sitting at about 92.

Is that too high or was it too low before?

Anyone tryed wetter water? Linky Linky

Mine sits on the pin all the time except if I'm stationery for about 10 minutes then it climbs slowly.

Same for me.

With the heaters on in this weather, it barely hits 90 sometimes.

normally sits at 90 here, few degrees more now and again. sat in birmingham traffic crawling on the motorway up to the NEC it hit the red for the first time since owning it. Other than that sitting in traffic the only other time it seems to get hotter is at a constant high speed on the motorway.

I use a similar thing to water wetter (but a lot cheaper) and it works really well. basicly works by removing ALL air bubbles from the coolant and reduces the coolants surface tension so when its under pressure it runs a fair bit cooler.

different coolant grades can affect operating temps a lot, ive seen differnces of up to 8 degrees with different grades and mixtures, for cooler running use Deionised distilled water with a bottle of specialist coolant additive. it also retains the heat a lot less so will stay at its optimum temp for longer without heating up rapidly when idling for long periods but will heat up a lot quicker from cold, its clever stuff.
