Right my laptop is fuked.
When i start it up i have no icons or toolbar down the bottom.Only my background picture.The internet button isnt working and when i right click on the background,nothing is happening.
I can sign onto the net by doing the ctrl+alt+del method and going from there.
Was told to try ctrl+F12 on start-up to re-boot it but thats not working.
Does any1 have any tips or ideas on how i can sort this myself.
I have AVG Anti-Virus but somethings got through.
Some1 please help as its doing my tits in and the internet is going slower than a week in jail.

AVG isn't that great any more, once your PC is sorted replace it for Avast.
Press ctrl+alt+del, click File, then New Task (Run...) and type "explorer.exe" without the quote marks. That should bring up your icons and task bar etc.

Tried that Dave but it says it cannot be found.
Managed to find and delete alot of files that were viruses but think im gonna have to re-install XP now.

Try running a repair installation, it will repair Windows files without over-writing your files which is what re-installing completely would do.
