everytime i switch me ignition off my radio resets its self, now iv tryed swapping the red and yellow wires but when i do this there is no power to the head unit at all? im just wondering do i swap the red and yellow on the adaptor or is it the actually interior loom red and yellow that need swapping or is there somethin else i need to do?

Check your fuses. The constant live will have blown.

If you have a multimeter, check the volts on both the red and yellow wires.

just checked all the fuses and none seem to have gone, and havent got a multimeter, do you no which number fuse is the constant live for the radio?
