The mrs punto's playing up 52 plate 1.2 8v when sitting in traffic the temp goesup pretty quick.
I've opened filler cap and bleed valve on radiator and ran car.
The radiator is also cold to touch like there's no flow through it.
Can anyone help with suggestions

my first thought would be the thermostat, but they usually fail open to prevent overheating.. at a guess, it could be the waterpump has had it

How can you tell if a waterpumP is not working? Does it run on timing belt or an aux belt?

iirc the 8v engine is on the cambelt. cant see if its gone without taking the belt off and removing it from the engine

Is this a mk2? On my girlfriends there is another bleed screw on one of the heater matrix hoses.

On the back on the engine you will see two black hoses going into the cars cabin. The right hand side one i think it is (standing infront of the car looking at it) has a bleed screw on it. You might also have the squeeze/pump the coolant pipes.

If this doesnt work then it may be the thermostat or waterpump like music said.
