Run that file I told you to download (the SuperAntiSpyware portable), it takes about 20 seconds or so before you see anything come up BTW.
Once it's up, do a full scan...

Do you mean the text menu you get where you can choose to start Windows normally, or Safe Mode etc.?

Startup repair runs after the black screen
The top option is startup repair
Then system restore
Restore from system image
Open command box
Dell data safe
Those are pretty much my options. Repair doesn't repair. Restore doesn't restore.

Matt - What's actually happening when you enter Safe Mode (ie this - http://youtu.be/7p852Jp6csE)? Is it throwing up the repair screen when you enter Safe Mode?
However, if you can't get into Safe Mode and repairing the system fails, then your only option is to do a complete format and install windows. And in future use something like Spybot Search and Destroy and a decent AntiVirus to prevent this happening.

Sorry, not been paying attention to this.
If Hitman caused a problem it Must have deleted the infected system file. Do you have a windows cd? A repair install might fix.

TBH I think it would be easier to just do a factory reinstall ('restore from system image' option you just mentioned).
If you've got any important files on the drive, best bet is to remove it from your computer and put it in a USB hard drive dock (only a few quid from places like eBuyer) and then you can copy your stuff temporarily to another machine before doing the factory reinstall.
