Do most vauxhalls share the same fan switch in the radiator? Mk3 astra gsi's mainly?
Also whats the best way to wire in a switch? Theres one run just now but switch itself gets pretty hot, im thinking the switch is too low a rating for the current? If so, anyone know what size it needs to be?

I know where the switch is, common place is on the side of the radiator with a 3 pin connector and 29mm spanner usually for removing. Its whether any vauxhall switch will fit as the car is a conversion

use a relay to switch the power to the fan. alot of vauxhalls use the same switch in the rad, some are differant temps and some are for single or 2 speed fans. yo need the one that matchs your fan and engine.

I bought an alloy radiator off ebay and i just took the old switch off the plastic standard rad and it fitted no problem. You could just go down your local scrappy and take a switch and see if it fits?

Any idea what relay is needed? The fan is 2 speed however the resistor that controls the speeds has been ripped out I think

I used a switch off a mains switch for an old CRT Monitor, 5amp switch, ran some 2 core mains wire to the radiator from the dash and spliced it into the exisiting fan switch wires, works perfect!

Had a look at the current setup tonight, its just two spades into the plug for the fan switch
Got a new switch to fit into the rad and will then splice in the wiring thats already there for the switch
