I got a new clutch cable around 2 months ago,cos it broke on me, The bloke in the garage said it was the gearbox and it was gonna cost me £300 to get it done!!!
Could try ajusting it like, see if that makes a diffrent.. Thanks

Check the linkage alignment.
You've probably got the F13CR. Same as the nova Gte/gsi's. Cost about £50 in a scrappy.

f13 is the box ID... cr = close ratio....
you can pick GB's up dead cheap - dont worry.
The linkage will be above the gearbox... look for where the clutch cable ends up

Linkage goes between the gearbox and gearstick rod. Look in your haynes.
Feck knows what the F standards for, but the 13 indicates the gearbox can cope with 130lb/ft of torque. Like the 6sp Turbo F28 box can take 280lb/ft.

Get yer haynes out and look on how to adjust the linkage
i just recently changed the gearbox on my 1.2 8v from a four speed to a five speed
was there for ages trying to gues if it was right had me girlfriend in the car hold the gearstick in the middle and me under for over an hour
Then decided to look in the haynes cos it had to be easyer than that
turned out with the aid of a drill bit u can lock the gear linkage in place while u adjust it worked first time.
