I know sod all bout the technical stuff of cars, can anyone tell me what the red wire going to the drivers door in this photo is for, its been cut in half since i got the car, i thought it may be the speaker but that still works

im guessing itll be for speakers that were removed and the std ones put back in when you bought it
other than that i dont know cos they really shudnt be there

brought the car of an old lady so dont think she had non standard speakers, could be wrong tho lol! erm theres an alarm on the car which i cant use becase she lost the fob, could it be for that? i really have no idea couldnt find anything in haynes manual either

take the speaker out and see where the wire goes to. Looks like its for the speaker but you'll soon find out if it doesnt go to the contacts on the speaker

u wont find it in the haynes manual as it isnt a standard part.
id take the door card off and see where it goes

That's deffo not a standard wire!
I'd agree with corser, take the "Friends" approach and rip out everything till you find out where it leads to!!

my mate had this in his, it was a connection for an aftermarket system for controlling the central locking.
