is the f20 better or worse in a 2ltr corsa as mine has got a f16 i think

iv got the f16 as well, and mine seems good.

make sure you've got the close ratio one out of a cavvy sri etc, cos the normal version out of the likes of a cavvy 2L GLS or similar is shite.drops too much revs between the gears.

i think f16 is better for acceleration while the f20 is better for top end, depends what you want.

i have f20cr.... very short gearing

tops out in 5th at 135mph at 7200rpm or so

i have an f16 and was getting 144 @ 7250
but now i have a f16wr and i get that in 4th

A wide ratio F16, rather than the standard F16 or the F16cr (Close Ratio).
BASICALLY the wider the ratio, the faster you can go in each gear but the slower the acceleration IIRC.

wr = wide ratio
cr = close ratio

You want it closer. The wide ratio boxes allow the car to get to 130+ within a moderate rev limit which of course is useless for the road.

yes you need a gearbox which is geared for maximum speed of 70mph

4th 105-110 i think
5th - 135

Adam, my gearbox has lost 3rd gear so am having a rebuilt put in, they said that i need to give them the correct part number for the F20 that i want, do you know what the part number is for the close ratio one???

Are they all the same size, mounts etc and just have different internals???
